First records of the Filzener Herrenberg vineyard date back to the year 1050. Now we are the sole owner of this renowned 6.5 hectare site. The residual Devonian slate soil, facing southwest with a slope of 30-50%, guarantees the unique expression of this distinctive terroir. Year by year we create wines from dry to sweet, from basic to top qualities, allowing the year to dictate the vintage’s requirements.
This “beautiful” (Latin: “pulcher”) vineyard is home to 100-year-old vines, yielding smallest quantities but of highest quality. The Pulchen vineyard is ideal for light, fruity Kabinett wines.
In 2016 Reverchon was able to regain a plot in the most famous vineyard, the Ockfener Bockstein, where our top-quality “Großes Gewächs” wines are cultivated from old vines.
Our vintage sparkling wines are produced by classic bottle fermentation, allowing them to rest on the lees for a prolonged period for optimal development of aromas and a fine, creamy mousse.
